Natural cork – under panels, parquet, tiles

Cork underlayment

Natural cork, known since ancient times, is one of the few products whose extraction does not disturb the balance of the natural environment. It has many valuable properties, which makes it a material with a wide range of practical applications. The most popular articles made of cork include, of course, bottle stoppers, wall boards and pads for hot dishes. However, this ecological raw material is also commonly used for interior finishing in the form of floor underlays and wall cork.

As one of the largest distributors of natural cork materials, we have extensive knowledge of its use in everyday life. Due to the advantages of this material, it can be used wherever we want to obtain the right temperature and quiet the room. For this purpose, we recommend a cork underlayment with a thickness of 2 to 10 mm, which we sell in rolls. This type of underlay is installed under panels, tiles, parquet and directly under the carpet. This is an optimal solution that ensures a pleasant atmosphere in a given interior, makes it quieter and makes the floor pleasant to the touch even on frosty days.

Expanded cork in thermal insulation

Expanded cork is a thermal insulating material obtained by heating and expanding cork, i.e. the bark of a cork oak. This process creates a light, porous material that is an effective thermal insulator.

The use of expanded cork in thermal insulation has several advantages:

Low density: Expanded cork is light, which means it is an excellent material for thermal insulation without additional load on the structure.

Good thermal insulation: Due to its porous structure, expanded cork has low thermal conductivity, which makes it an effective thermal insulator.

Moisture resistance: Cork is naturally resistant to moisture, which means that it can be used in places with increased humidity without the risk of losing its insulating properties.

Flexibility: Expanded cork is flexible, which facilitates its use in various structures, also where adaptation to the shape of the surface is required.

Resistance to mold and fungi: Cork has antibacterial properties, which makes it less susceptible to the growth of mold and fungi.

Ease of processing: Expanded cork is relatively easy to cut and shape, which makes it easy to install in various places.

The use of expanded cork in thermal insulation can be beneficial in both residential and industrial buildings. It is an ecological material because it is obtained from the bark of the cork oak, and the production process is relatively environmentally friendly.
